The record-breaking occurred 7:33 minutes into the first quarter when Kerry scored his second three-pointer of the game, and in the next offense Golden State committed an offense to stop the clock. The crowd at Madison Square Garden gave the new record the respect it deserved with tremendous applause.
In total, Kerry scored 2,977 threes in 789 games over 13 seasons in the best league in the world – an average of 3.8 threes per game.
